LF Restoration: 2000 Red Porsche Boxster S

Worked on this Boxster in and out over the years. This car was in mediocre condition and in desperate need of some polishing. Worst part was trying to clean all the jams with steam + water since dirt had accumulated so badly.

Wheels  - Sonax Wheel Cleaner, Optimum Power Clean, various brushes. IronX Decontamination

Tires – Auto Finesse Tire Gloss

Wash – Bath with Optimum Wash, Power Clean – Pre Wash/Prep Paint.

Clay  - Yellow Erazer Clay + Optimum No Rinse

Polish – M105 with Cutting MF Pad, D300 with Cutting Pad, P085RD Menzerna + White Polishing Pad.

Wax – Auto Finesse Tough Sealant x 2, OptiSeal x1, Optimum Car wax

Trim – Optimum Protectant, Poorboy’s Trim Restorer

Gaps – Steam, Water, Power Clean & elbow grease

Interior – Steam with VX5000, Optimum Protectant Plus

Various Products: OptiClean, Adam’s QD.

Must say I love Meguiar & Menzerna polishes! Made the joy of polishing worth it for the 6 + hours I was going at it.

2008 Jerez Black M3 with dealer induced swirls. Thankfully only from the carwash and dealer neglect.

LF Guide: Routine Maintenance Tools

Maintenance of the vehicle with the right tools is extremely important Whatever touches the finish of your paint can either do damage or preserve the finish. These products are recommended based on popularity, performance, and value. Detailed Image is Liquid Finish’s preferred distributor for their quick shipment, quality customer service, and frequent sales.

Wash Tools

I recommend the Lake Country Blue Grout Sponge since it releases dirt, produces suds, and is extremely durable. Microfiber Wash Mitts & Wool Wash Mitts are recommended as well.

Recent Detail: 135 BMW Black Minor Correction Detail

Fall is here, meaning way better temperature to work on this CPO’d 135. New products include Tuf Shine Tire Clearcoat & Meguiars DA Microfiber System.

After polishing with D300/105 Meguiars I found deep etching and minor swirling which meant deeper cutting was needed with Surf Buf, etc. I decided for the recent life of the paint it was better off leaving it at 95%. This paint responds better with depth, reflection & sparkle.

Tires with Tuf Shine Tire Cleaner x2, Power Clean 3:1. Tuf Shine Clearcoat 1.5 Times

Wheels with Sonax Wheel Cleaner & Various Brushes. Sealed with OptiSeal.

Paint Decontaminated with Special Yellow Elastic Clay

Polishing via D300 Compound + Cutting MF Pads, Meguiars 105 Compound & Cutting MF Pads.

Final Polish via Meguiars 205 & Low Profile Orange Pad.

1 Layer of Optimum Poliseal, OptiSeal, Optimum Car Wax

Finish Kare 425 Walk Around.

Total Time: Approx 12 Hours at slow rate.
