Process & Products:

Wheels - Sonax Wheel Cleaner, Optimum Power Clean, various brushes. Sealed with OptiSeal Tires – Power Clean & Optibond

Wash – Foam bath with Poorboy’s SSS, Power Clean – Pre Wash.

Clay – Yellow Erazer for decontamination.

Polish/Compound – D300 Correction Compound & M105 with Cutting MF Pad, D300 with Finishing MF Pad.

Finish – Optimum Poliseal, Optimum Optiseal, Optimum Car Wax. Finish Kare 425 Wipedown.

Maintenance of the vehicle with the right tools is extremely important Whatever touches the finish of your paint can either do damage or preserve the finish. These products are recommended based on popularity, performance, and value. Detailed Image is Liquid Finish’s preferred distributor for their quick shipment, quality customer service, and frequent sales.

Wash Tools

I recommend the Lake Country Blue Grout Sponge since it releases dirt, produces suds, and is extremely durable. Microfiber Wash Mitts & Wool Wash Mitts are recommended as well.

Brushes

Boar’s Hair Detail Brush - Best for fine detail work in the interior or small wheel areas.

Premium Wheel Brush - Great for rear wheel barrels and hard to reach areas.

Microfibers

Waffle Weaves Drying Towel - by far the best tool to dry your vehicle besides an air compressor/blower. Recommended Quantity is about 2 per wash.All Purpose Towel - best for miscellaneous cleaning like interior/wheel duty. Recommended Quantity – 6-10 Towels.

Ultra Plus Towel - best for quick detailing and buffing duties for your paint. Use premium towels to ensure a swirl free shine.

Wash

Optimum No Rinse & Shine – Best product for waterless washing in low water or winter environments. Be sure to read the ONR Guide. We recommend Optimum Car Wash. Other Washes include: Any Chemical Guys Cleansers (GlossWorkz, Citrus Wash, Citrus Wash & Gloss), PB World Super Slick & Suds, Sonax Gloss Shampoo, Einszett 1Z Perls.

Wheels

Sonax Wheel Cleaner is probably the safest most effective wheel cleaner. Also read the LF Guide to Wheel Detailing. Other Wheel Cleaners include: P21s Wheel Gel, Optimum Power Clean

Interior

Optimum Protectant Plus one of the most versatile, safe, and effective cleaner/protectants for your interior. Usable for all leather surfaces, plastic, vinyl, and other surfaces. Cleans & leaves a nice matte finish without any overwhelming scents. Highly Recommended. Other Interior Care include: Einszett 1Z CockPit Premium, Meguiar’s Quick Interior Detailer, 303 Aerospace Protectant, Meguiar’s M40 Cleaner & Conditioner.

Quick Detailer/Waterless Wash

Optimum OptiClean is usable for both interior and exterior. Product cleans utilizing waterless technology and extremely safe for your finish while leaving a great shine. Poorboy’s Spray & Wipe is another great waterless exterior cleaner. Other Quick Detailersinclude: PB’s Spray & Gloss, Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer, CG Speed-Wipe/Synthetic Quick Detailer

Protection

Opti-Seal the easiest sealant to use on the market. Simply wipe and walk away after a buff. Highly Recommended after each wash stage or monthly routine.

Optimum Car Wax another easy to use spray wax that can be done monthly. Highly recommended after a wash or to touch up Optiseal.

Recent Detail: 135 BMW Black Minor Correction Detail

Fall is here, meaning way better temperature to work on this CPO’d 135. New products include Tuf Shine Tire Clearcoat & Meguiars DA Microfiber System.

After polishing with D300/105 Meguiars I found deep etching and minor swirling which meant deeper cutting was needed with Surf Buf, etc. I decided for the recent life of the paint it was better off leaving it at 95%. This paint responds better with depth, reflection & sparkle.

Process & Products

Foam Wash with Poorboy’s Super Slick & Suds

Tires with Tuf Shine Tire Cleaner x2, Power Clean 3:1. Tuf Shine Clearcoat 1.5 Times

Wheels with Sonax Wheel Cleaner & Various Brushes. Sealed with OptiSeal.

Paint Decontaminated with Special Yellow Elastic Clay

Polishing via D300 Compound + Cutting MF Pads, Meguiars 105 Compound & Cutting MF Pads.

Final Polish via Meguiars 205 & Low Profile Orange Pad.

1 Layer of Optimum Poliseal, OptiSeal, Optimum Car Wax

Finish Kare 425 Walk Around.

Total Time: Approx 12 Hours at slow rate.
